Urging for Peace and Respect for Judiciary in Plateau State: A Call by the Northern Christian Civil Rights Movement of Nigeria
Dear Friends,
The Northern Christian Civil Rights Movement of Nigeria strongly advocates for peace and fair play in Plateau State. In light of recent events surrounding the Appeal Court rulings on the elections, our movement seeks to clarify and encourage understanding.
Plateau State has endured years of ethnic and religious tensions, exploited by politicians for their gain. Unfortunately, the recent outcry by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has attempted to exploit these sensitivities for political ends, undermining the integrity of our judiciary.
It's deeply regrettable that the PDP has resorted to baseless accusations, seeking to inflame religious sentiments and tarnish the reputation of our Appeal Court Justices. This behavior is not only irresponsible but also poses a threat to the fragile peace in Plateau.
We must understand that the Court of Appeal made its decisions based on legal merits and adherence to constitutional and electoral laws. Regardless of dissatisfaction with rulings, proper legal channels must be followed for redress instead of resorting to unfounded accusations.
Our movement urges the PDP in Plateau State to desist from such divisive actions and uphold the sanctity of the judicial process. Let's not allow politics to destabilize our democracy or jeopardize the peace our people deserve.
The Northern Christian Civil Rights Movement of Nigeria calls for unity, urging all parties involved to prioritize peace and respect for the judiciary. We must stand against attempts to sow discord and embrace the truth for the betterment of our beloved Plateau State.
Let us join hands in fostering peace, setting aside divisive tactics for the collective good of our state. Together, we can create a future where justice, harmony, and progress prevail.
Thank you for your support in advocating for peace in Plateau State.
Signed,
Engr. Bilal
